Sandals Grande gets Green Globe benchmark SANDALS GRANDE Ocho Rios Beach and Villa Resort has achieved the Green Globe Benchmarked Certificate under the new Green Globe Certification program, which recognises the hotel's commitment to operating at the world's highest environmental standard.
The property has spent time standardising its energy and water consumption, waste production and disposal as well as implementing an integrated environmental and social
policy.
MAKING A DIFFERENCE
Cathy Parsons, chief
executive officer of Green Globe Asia Pacific (GGAP) International, said she was delighted that Sandals Grande Ocho Rios has achieved
benchmarked status.

Public Relations Manager Adrian Nelson also mentioned that the hotel has achieved Best Practice results in Resource Conservation and Solid Waste and Waste Water Management.

"These measures will no doubt deliver ongoing reduction of non-renewable resources, extensive cost savings and secure a sustainable commercial and ecological future for the resort," Nelson stated.
Green Globe is the global benchmarking, certification and improvement system assisting the international travel and tourism industry to attain sustainability.
It provides a certification system that responds to major environmental problems including the greenhouse effect, over-use of freshwater resources, destruction of
biodiversity, production of solid and biological waste
and social issues.
