MANAGING
DIRECTOR of Montego Bay's 75-room Hotel Gloriana, Mrs. Eugennie
Minto, was presented with one of international tourism's highest
honours: Spain's prestigious Publishing House/Trade Leaders' Club
Golden Trophy of excellence.
The presentation
was made to Mrs. Minto in Madrid, the Spanish capital, at an international
tourism convention attended by thousands of hospitality industry
executives from around the world.
Accepting the
award, Mrs. Minto used the opportunity to laud Jamaica as a tourism
wonderland.
"It is
with heartfelt gratitude, and warm, sincere thanks that I humbly,
proudly accept this coveted award," Mrs. Minto said. "Not
only for my own Hotel Gloriana but also on behalf of our many
team members who made it possible and for our alluring, 'Island
in the Sun', which has become such a favourite international holiday
destination for so many."

resort as having developed "an enviable reputation in the (worldwide

And president

said that Hotel Gloriana's triumph "should serve as an inspiring
morale booster for Jamaica's small hotels."
Hotel Gloriana,
located on Sunset Boulevard in the resort capital, was established
