Giant steps in the right direction
Expo 2005, themed 'Montego Bay the
Gateway to the Caribbean', has again attracted over 100 booth holders
who will display their products at the Montego Bay Cruise Ship Terminal,
Montego Freeport, from Friday, October 7 to Sunday, October
9.
Dear Readers:
THE
TOURISM capital, Montego Bay, will not only celebrate its 25th
anniversary as a city within a few days, but will also showcase
its diversity and versatility as the Montego Bay Chamber of Commerce
and Industry (MBCCI) Expo 2005 unfolds.
In fact, we felt the need to dedicate this publication to the event,
which, in 11 years, has made giant steps in the right direction,
showcasing a number of industries that have propelled the growth
of the second city.
I believe had it not been for these many companies investing in
Montego Bay, the city would have gone under after the dent to the
thriving drug trade by Operation Kingfish.
Expo 2005, themed 'Montego Bay the Gateway to the Caribbean',

Mrs. Patricia Francis, president of the Jamaica Promotions (JAMPRO)
Corporation, has kindly agreed to be the keynote speaker at the
event's opening ceremony on Friday, October 7.
Two exciting segments have been added to the event this year. Patrons
can now buy goods from the exhibitors as the event changes speed
and becomes a 'Buyers Expo', while Saturday night, the Fabulous
Fab Five takes the popular 'Party on the Pier' to the apex.
ALL-INCLUSIVE FOOD STALLS
Thirteen of the city's best restaurants have agreed to provide
food at the all-inclusive food stalls at 'Party on the Pier'.
Friday has been dedicated PAT FRANCIS Students' Day; Saturday
a day for 'adult' Spelling Bee champs; and Sunday, a far-reaching
gospel concert has been added to the mix.
Obviously Expo 2005 has risen to another level. The city of Montego
Bay should take a bow for its achievements.
