Half Moon voted Best Golf Resort
Half Moon's newly renovated golf course is receiving praise from
travelers around the globe. So say the readers of Caribbean World
magazine out of the United Kingdom and Caribbean Travel & Life
out of the United States who have voted Half Moon the Best Golf
Resort in the Caribbean.
Now in its 12th year, the Caribbean World Annual Awards has become
one of Britain's foremost prize giving ceremonies. Voted for by
readers of Caribbean World, the awards recognize excellence among
islands and services that provide comfort, entertainment and enjoyment
for Caribbean holiday makers. This year's nod marks the third win
for Half Moon in the Best Golf Resort category, as the resort was
previously recognized in 2005 and 2003.
Similarly, readers of Caribbean Travel & Life, the only national
US travel magazine to focus solely on the Caribbean, were asked
to vote in over 30 categories about their best Caribbean experience.
When the survey results were tallied Half Moon edged out Four Seasons
Nevis, Westin Grand Bahama Resort at Our Lucaya and Four Seasons
Great Exuma. Half Moon also ranked third in the Most Luxurious Resort
category.

"These awards come at a time when we have instituted significant
improvements to the resort and invested in the further training
of our staff. We are delighted that these investments in both the
physical and human resources of the resort are being received with
praise from our clients," said Richard Whitfield, Half Moon's
Managing Director.
Over US$2 million was recently invested to renovate Half Moon's
18-hole championship golf course. The renovation, which was led
by golf course architect Roger Rulewich, created newly-aligned,
multiple tee complexes as well as repositioned fairway and greenside
bunkers. Rulewich also laser-leveled the David Leadbetter Golf Academy
teaching tee, creating a custom-designed short game area for players
to practice chipping, pitching and bunker shots.
Half Moon features 398 beautifully appointed rooms and suites.
In addition to being highly suited for leisure travellers, the resort
offers extensive indoor and outdoor meeting facilities, ideal destination
wedding venues and a variety of recreational facilities. Guests
can enjoy an exclusive dolphin lagoon; championship golf on one
of the Caribbean's best walking courses, an equestrian centre, first-class
tennis, and a variety of water sports including diving as well as
delectable specialty restaurants
