International education fair returns to Montego Bay in November
Admissions advisors and administrators from over 20 international
universities and colleges will once again converge in Montego Bay
on Friday November 2, 2007 to participate in the third annual Eduventures
International Education Fair.
The fair will be held at the Holiday Inn Sunspree Resort and will
provide the opportunity for academic institutions from Canada, United
Kingdom, United States, Jamaica and the wider Caribbean to showcase
their offerings in a comfortable setting and to engage in consultations
with serious prospective students from western Jamaica who are preparing
themselves to make the important step towards higher education.
This will be their second stop, as the fair begins in Kingston
on Tuesday and Wednesday, October 30-31, 2007 at the Hilton Kingston
Hotel
The Eduventures Fair was held last year at the same venue in Montego
Bay in October 2006 and attracted an attendance of over 1,000 students,
parents, teachers and other interested individuals. The event was
an overwhelming success, from the perspectives of the exhibitors
and the visitors alike.
The fair will run between 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. and will have
an admission requirement of J$100.00 for students in uniform and
J$200 for all others.
discussion
Information sessions are also planned to discuss relevant issues
such as undergraduate and postgraduate admissions requirements,
scholarship opportunities, international student loans, and distance
learning for adults seeking to upgrade their qualifications.
"We are pleased to make this opportunity available to Jamaican
students", says Mr. Aldain Reid, president of Eduventures Jamaica,
the organisers of this event.
"This forum, will provide students with a broad range of options
from a variety of local and international institutions at all levels
of study."
Eduventures Jamaica was founded three years ago, with its primary
mission being to encourage Jamaican youth to connect to the wealth
of opportunities offered by international education.
