CTO to honour past chairs and major contributors

THE CARIBBEAN Tourism Organisation (CTO) Foundation will honour past chairmen and major contributors to the CTO Foundation and the Audrey Palmer Hawks Memorial Scholarship Fund at the foundation's Cocktail Reception, Auction and Awards Dinner to be held February 10, 2006, at the Copacabana in New York City.

Proceeds generated from the auction and dinner will go towards educational scholarships for Caribbean nationals interested in pursuing careers in the tourism industry.

The gala event will recognise those individuals and companies who have been instrumental in donating their time and money to the CTO Foundation, which has provided over 90 scholarships and study grants in the amount of US$500,000 since 1998. Honourees include the following:

The auction will feature exciting prizes for guests to bid on including vacations to Caribbean properties, airline tickets to the Caribbean, Caribbean cruise vacations, sports and entertainment memorabilia, Caribbean art, books, jewellery, New York City experiences, liquor and gift baskets. The evening's festivities kick-off at 6:30 p.m. with a cocktail reception and auction followed by the awards presentation at 8:00 p.m. in the grand Copa ballroom.
