THE JAMAICA Tourist Board, in conjunction with JAMPRO, recently hosted representatives of the tourist industry and media to a viewing of CBS Television's final episode of the reality show, The Amazing Race, a large segment of which which was filmed in Jamaica.

The function was held at Cuddy'z Sports Bar in New Kingston.

The episode of the Emmy Award-winning show generated 15.99 million viewers on May 10, the highest ratings ever.

According to Executive Producer, Elise Doganieri, Jamaica has many components which combine to make the show successful and interesting to viewers, such as its compelling and adventurous terrain.

The show found the top three teams traversing Jamaica in a penultimate push towards the finish line and a US$1 million prize. Teams raced from Kingston across the island to Montego Bay, facing the challenges of the journey against a backdrop of the island's diverse culture, people and landscape.

Paul Pennicook, Director of Tourism, commented, "This has been a very exciting project for the JTB. The show is the perfect conduit to expose the world to the diversity of Jamaica's culture and people, as well as the adventurous opportunities that can be discovered on our island."
