Claudette Miller Revue raises roof

WITH MUCH more than a 'new attitude', fabulous at 50 Claudette
Miller surrounded herself with her revue of young talented performers
and worked 'hard for her money' setting the roof on fire at Hedonism
II last Saturday night.
The former group leader of the singing group Ebony ignited an incredibly
large furnace by opening her act with renditions from disco queens
Donna Summer and the Pointer Sisters. Within 10 minutes on stage,
she had the audience doing the 'Neutron Dance', proving she was
just as hot as the days with her sidekicks Connie Edwards and Patricia.
Miller and her new and vibrant crew, dubbed the Claudette Miller
Revue, scorched the loins of those who attempted to dance and lifted
the spirits of those who sat still.
She then took the show to another level, paying tribute to reggae
ambassador Rita Marley's song One Draw, but instead of begging to
be given some 'sensi' she commandeered the audience to, "gi
har some a dat reggae".
Miller delivered an embellished reggae package, which she hailed
as 'brawta' to the visitors in the house. "I want you to take
home this to your friends, eh ... eh ... eh ... eh ... gi mi some
a dat reggae," sang the veteran performer.
A true professional, Miller exited the stage for a costume change
giving centre stage to the young and extremely promising Lance Rhoden
who decided he was Stepping Out A Babylon while 'getting up and
standing up for his rights'. Ahile Rhoden held the fort with Try
Jah Love, Miller reappeared in a classy shimmering dress that picked
up the stage lights.

HIT AFTER HIT
The segment massaged the lovers in the house with Wind Beneath
My Wings, proving then more than ever that she could stand on equal
footing with the best in the business.
She pulled another hit, creating undulating waves with the hit
I Will Survive. Shortly after she was literally fanning the flames
of Disco Inferno.
Versatility combined with a scintillating performance and colourful
costumes, best describe the Claudette Miller Revue.
A stalwart in the cabaret business, Miller brings a ray of hope
to entertainment in the resorts, and when she departs the stage
(which shouldn't be anytime too soon), she would have left a legacy
for many of the island's aspiring youth to emulate.
The Claudette Miller Revue can be seen weekly at Sandals Whitehouse
and European Village, Sandals Montego Bay and Royal Caribbean and
the Holiday Inn Sunspree Resort.
