Missy Elliott to add much spice

ELLIOT

MISSY ELLIOTT is one of the biggest female artistes in contemporary music today. She has worked her way up in the music industry tallying a plethora of awards for her music and talent. This mega star has been booked to perform as the second Red Stripe Star Performer for Red Stripe Reggae Sumfest this July.

Elliott will headline Saturday nights' show, 'The Summit', on July 22 and will share the stage with stars like Rihanna, Damian Marley, Beres Hammond, Buju Banton and Gentleman. She is expected to deliver an entertaining, energetic and flamboyant performance in her usual style.

Missy Elliott, who won the award for the Best Female Hip Hop Artiste of the Year at the recently concluded BET Awards, will surely have the patrons jumping when she hits the stage and reels off songs like Lose Control, On and On and Irresistible Delicious. Recognised as the best selling female hip-hop artiste of all time, this quadruple threat a writer, singer, lyricist, and producer will undoubtedly whet the appetite of all with her delicious new CD, The Cookbook.

DELIVERING THE BIGGEST STARS

"Each record has its own herbs and spices. Whether I listened to my previous albums, rock, alternative, hip hop or soul records from Chaka Khan, it's all mixed in there," said the hip hop star.

Title sponsor, Red Stripe was instrumental in securing this deal to bring the diva to Jamaica. Carlo Redwood, group marketing manager at Red Stripe, said that the title sponsor had increased its sponsorship of this years' event to facilitate contracting 50 cent and Missy Elliott.

"Red Stripe is happy to have yet another Red Stripe star performer on Jamaica's best and the world's greatest reggae show on earth. Bringing 50 cent and Missy Elliott to Jamaica is a part of Red Stripe's drive to ensure that the event continues to deliver the biggest stars in music. It is with high anticipation that fans eagerly await the performances of these massively popular entertainers," Mr. Redwood said.

He added that both rap and hip hop grew out of reggae and dancehall music, Red Stripe Reggae Sumfest is ensuring that the show this year embodies all the indigenous music of Jamaica as well as all those genres that have spawned out of it.
