Sizzla to start at 'Ignition'
JAMAICAN REGGAE star Sizzla will lead the star studded Jamaican
line-up of stars at 'Ignition' on July 21, the Friday night event
of Red Stripe Reggae Sumfest. Sizzla, who has displayed prodigious
talent from the time he captured national attention, is expected
to draw a large thousands of fans who are enraptured by his brilliance.
Equally comfortable as a singer or a deejay, Sizzla burst on to
the international scene in 1997 with the beautiful album Black Woman
and Child, which announced to the entire world that this was a rare
combination of depth and star attitude. His enigmatic personality
only helped to draw more fans to record stores.
The songs from this album ruled radio that year and Black Woman
and Child became an anthem worldwide. Since then, the hits have
kept coming and so have the audiences. With Good Ways, Mama, Dry
Cry, Ain't Gonna See Us Fall, Sizzla stands tall at the top of the
music scene.
Hip hop superstar 50 cent will appear at 'Ignition', along with
the G unit. First lady of dancehall Lady Saw, Lloyd Banks, Richie
Spice, Mr. Vegas, Noddy Virtue, Jovi Rockwell, and Aisha and Andy
Vernon will also appear
Reggae icon John Holt will be presented with the Reggae Sumfest
Lifetime Achievement award on this night. Leroy Sibbles is expected
to join Holt on stage for a show-closing performance
