"This is a welcome start to the New Year," said managing
director of Half Moon, Richard Whitfield. "In 2006 we renovated
our top-tier Imperial Suites as well as added our landmark spa suites.
We also recently renovated our golf course, which has since received
rave reviews, and we are well on our way in completing our new spa
oasis, which will debut this spring. Families visiting our resort
last year also received an added boon as we opened our Anancy Children's
Village in May, catering to children three-12. This recognition
demonstrates that our efforts have not gone unnoticed by our customers."
Winners for the awards were selected from the more than 50 five-star
resorts nominated by Family Travel Forum correspondents, luxury
travel specialists, and travelling families. Each resort was evaluated
on setting, accommodations, recreation and spa facilities, family
indulgences and children's services; Family Travel Forum's winners
exceeded guest expectations in each of these categories. The Family
Travel Forum Inc. was founded in 1996 to serve members who "have
kids (and) still travel," and publishes the award-winning FamilyTravelForum.com,
the leading subscription site dedicated to family vacations.
Half Moon is nestled on 400 beautifully-manicured acres and features
a two-mile, white sand beach, recently-renovated Robert Trent Jones
Sr.-designed 18-hole golf course, renowned David Leadbetter Golf
Academy, luxury accommodations including suites, cottages and villas,
13 lit tennis courts, equestrian centre, fitness centre, spa, superb
cuisine, 51 swimming pools, recently-constructed Children's Centre,
water sports, Dolphin Lagoon, shopping village, including 24-hour
medical centre and more.
