Sandals adds to 'royal touch
service'
Janet Silvera, Hospitality Jamaica Coordinator
Distancing themselves from 'run of the house' all-inclusives, Sandals
Resorts International is taking luxury to the zenith as it repositions
its portfolio to meet the needs of the new breed of travellers.
The chain unveiled its latest innovation in the form of 10 newly-constructed,
up-market suites tagged, 'River Suites' at the Sandals Royal Caribbean
in Montego Bay.
Each suite comes equipped with a 42 inch plasma television, an
Indonesian-styled four poster mahogany king-sized bed, Jacuzzi hot
tubs, his and her vanities, a fully stocked bar, an oversized balcony
and a butler to pack and unpack your luggage, iron your clothes
and even make your dinner reservations.
outdoor dining
Butler guests are never allowed to join the lines for food, they
are catered to unconditionally, and those who prefer not to leave
the luxury of their suite have the choice of outdoor dining on their
patio, an area for the ultimate in relaxation.
Luxury does not stop there as all River Suite guests on check-in
receive a cellular phone as a means of communication with their
personal butler.
The rooms are seated infront of a continuous lazy river and they
all boast a rich and natural Caribbean feel. Each occupant enjoys
24-hour room service as part of the exclusive suite concierge service.
One of the main highlights of the suites is the fact that they
all conform to Green Globe certification by being environmentally
friendly.
"To access any of the air conditions or lights, the room key
has to be used. In fact, all electricity in the room is activated
by the room key, so when guests are out of the room the electricity
remains off," an elated Jeremy Mutton, general manager, told
Hospitality Jamaica.
high tea, continental breakfast in bed
In a class by itself, Sandals Royal Caribbean is renowned throughout
the Caribbean for its refinements and British traditions of a bygone
era such as high tea and continental breakfast in bed. And just
offshore, Sandals Resorts own exotic private island features a pool
with a swim-up bar, a secluded private beach and an authentic Thai
restaurant where some of the dishes are rumored to be aphrodisiacs.
You'll be treated to legendary "royal touch service" at
four gourmet restaurants and five bars while enjoying full exchange
privileges at the neighbouring Sandals Montego Bay and Sandals Inn,
thus giving you a choice of 11 world-class dining experiences. Stately
columns frame the entrance. Antique mahogany furniture abounds.
And peacocks stroll the manicured grounds. So relax as you soak
up our colonial ambiance with a unique Caribbean style.
