"The Portland Jerk Festival was created to be a showcase of
the people, indigenous food and culture of Portland," said
Sybil Rendle, chairman of the Portland Jerk Festival Committee,
speaking at the launch at Folly Lighthouse on Wednesday. "The
event has caught the imagination of Jamaican people and has now
blossomed into a major food and family festival. The expansion of
the festival to a three-day event is consistent with our vision
to turn it into one of Jamaica's biggest festivals."
The 2008 Pepsi Portland Jerk Festival promises to be an exciting,
spicy and delicious weekend for the entire family.
