Governor General Professor Sir Kenneth Hall in Taino Village

What they say ...

Superlatives often decorate the response to the Outameni Experience as land-based and cruise-ship visitors leave the sixth village - Jamaica Today. Having travelled through 'time and space' - from Taino to Rasta - visitors then cool out on our dry-land 'Di Beach' where they dance and get refreshed by the Outameni Beach Bums.

Outameni Experience continues to satisfy a wide range of visitors including local and international students and dignitaries at the highest level, including Jamaica's head of state. We have been privileged to host our esteemed Governor General Professor Sir Kenneth Hall, who commented at the end of the Experience: "This is an Experience not just for foreign visitors, but one that every Jamaican should have. It is not only entertaining, it is educational. It brings our history alive, and as a historian myself, I found it exciting. Outameni Experience is simply wonderful!"

glowing praise

Horace Peterkin - a household name in Jamaica's tourist industry as a former president of the Jamaica Hotel and Tourist Association, and Sandals executive - was another of our very special guests. He spoke about the Experience in glowing terms:

"It is the perfect escape for the entire family. My children have been here several times and are always asking to come back."

It is not only our local residents who register this kind of approval for Outameni Experience. The GraceKennedy Jamaican Birthright ambassadors visited in August and one very satisfied foreign visitor wrote:

"From start to finish, the Outameni Experience was incredible. It finally quenched the thirst I had since I stepped on the island four weeks ago to learn more about the history of Jamaica and its people. The narration was performed in a simple, but informative way, which meant that children or anyone with no knowledge of the history would be able to easily understand the sequence of events.

"By the end of the tour, I felt that my experience of Jamaica was essentially complete. Words cannot fully express the pride that I felt as I walked through the exhibition and not only learnt how Jamaica has become the multicultural country that it is today, but also had some of the myths of Jamaica and its culture set straight."
