A treasured Jamaican tourism landmark
The council and members of the Jamaica Hotel and Tourist Association join me in extending warm congratulations to the Half Moon family on the occasion of their double celebration - the 60th anniversary of the Half Moon Hotel and the 50th anniversary of their golf course.
Half Moon is a treasured Jamaican tourism landmark which has served our nation extremely well throughout the decades. The owners must be commended for their long-standing investment in our tourism industry and for their continued commitment to providing a significant source of income, not only for the many persons directly employed, but also for the countless others who provide the many goods and services required by them - farmers, artisans, entertainers included. All I am sure are extremely grateful for the opportunity afforded by this hotel to participate in Jamaica's most important foreign exchange earning industry - tourism.
We also congratulate the hotel's management and staff for successfully delivering superb service to the many guests, both from here and abroad, who have visited throughout the decades. It is clear that service excellence along with vision and innovation are core beliefs that have guided the Half Moon team in their zeal for not just meeting, but surpassing guest expectations.
Half Moon has been part of our Jamaica Hotel and Tourist Association family for many years. We congratulate them on this special occasion and look forward to their continued partnership and support of our industry for many years to come!
